UGL Unicco Contract Extended, Expanded at Carleton University

UGL Unicco, a subsidiary of UGL Limited, today announced the renewal of its contract with Carleton University. The new five-year agreement expands the previous facilities services management contract to include custodial services, residence housekeeping services, subcontractor management, as well as operations and maintenance.
UGL Unicco’s 150 employees clean and maintain 4,000,000 sq. ft. in all 45 buildings on the Rideau River campus supporting 23,000 full-time students and a faculty/staff of 2,300. Under the contract, UGL Unicco is also responsible for full maintenance at the Ice House, the cornerstone of the Carleton Athletics Recreation Centre, as well as ice resurfacing for the double pad arena. The company has also been contracted to service two new buildings currently under construction that are due for completion in 2011.
“The expanded contract is testimony to the services that UGL Unicco has provided in the past and the expectation of the service levels that they will deliver in the future,” said Carleton University Assistant Director of Maintenance Services Kevin Gallinger. “They are providing a comprehensive set of services that is responsive to the day-to-day needs of our students and staff while keeping our facilities in good repair for the long term.”
