Promote It International Achieves Women’s Business Enterprise Status

Denver, CO (PRWEB) December 2, 2005

Promote It International, a health and fitness promotions agency specializing in targeting active consumers nationwide through health clubs and fitness facilities, today announced it has achieved Women Business Enterprise (WBE) status as appointed by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council-West in partnership with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Promote It underwent a detailed review to earn WBE certification, which requires a company to be at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women. As a nationally certified Women’s Business Enterprise, Promote It will now have greater access to business opportunities with companies committed to vendor diversity. “It is a great honor for our company to be certified as a Women Business Enterprise because it allows us to be recognized by more than 700 corporations and government entities with shared interest in supplier diversity,” said Barbie Gummin, founder and CEO of Promote It International. “We are exceedingly excited about the opportunities and recognition that this certification brings to our company and look forward to utilizing our membership to build lasting relationships with our clients.”

The certification is based on the strict standards, procedures and requirements of the WBENC and qualifies Promote It for consideration by organizations seeking vendor relationships with companies owned and operated by women or minorities.

Gummin established Promote It International in a small basement office in 1990. She recognized the need of large companies for a desirable niche market to promote health oriented products on a grassroots level. Fifteen years later, Promote It has evolved into the 11th fastest growing full-service agency nationwide according to PROMO Magazine, offering customized promotions in health clubs, college fitness centers, workplace fitness facilities and spas.

Promote It International services eminent Fortune 500 companies and fitness facilities nationwide specializing in targeting active consumers through a network of over 5,500 health clubs and fitness facilities. Promote It’s customized promotions include sampling, couponing, event and trade show sponsorship and health club guest pass program. Clients include Kraft Foods, L’Oréal, Kellogg’s, The Quaker Oats Company, Pfizer and Procter & Gamble.
