Merlot Rooftop Grill, Ottawa Marriott Hotel’s renowned special-occasions restaurant will be closing its doors on Sunday, October 31st, after 38 successful years in business. The popular revolving restaurant opened in 1972 as La Ronde, when the hotel was previously a Holiday Inn. Offering stunning views of Ottawa and the Gatineau Hills, Merlot sells out annually on New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and Canada Day.
The Ottawa Marriott is now pleased to announce the opening of Summit, a new Ottawa event facility. Summit, opening Monday, November 1st, will be the Ottawa event venue of choice for upscale, prestigious events hosting between 10 – 300 guests. As Ottawa’s only revolving banquet facility, Summit will offer spectacular views of downtown Ottawa (including Parliament Hill and Ottawa River) and the Outaouais. Due to the unique circular shape and layout of the room, several improvements will be made to enhance the room’s adaptability for various event types. First, modern and multi-functional dividers and blinds will play a dominant role in the overall décor. Second, multi-use LCD TV screens and cameras can be utilized to provide guests with a sightline to all areas of the room.
Summit will be suitable for non-traditional Ottawa weddings, private dinners, holiday parties, corporate launch events, high-profile government receptions, media lunches and press conferences.
