The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (ODMHSAS) awarded full certification to Narconon of Oklahoma, Inc. (dba) Narconon Arrowheads drug free withdrawal program after department inspectors verified the center was in 100% compliance with the criteria required by the state for non-medical detoxification.

The Departments recommendation for full certification was sanctioned by a unanimous vote by the Oklahoma Board of Mental Health at their monthly meeting held at Department headquarters in Oklahoma City on the 11th of March. Full certification is valid for three years, which is the most allowed under the Department is regulations.

Narconon Arrowhead CEO, Gary W. Smith said, My center is goal has always been to meet or exceed state and federal treatment standards because the individuals that we help are the ones that benefit from a higher quality care in the end. I think it’s a new era for the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and treatment providers in the state. We have known for some time that substance abuse is one of the key factors that are driving up prison and health care costs and more treatment services are needed, not less. State regulations seem to be moving more towards inclusion of alternative types of effective rehabilitation methods and programs rather then being exclusive to what has been considered traditional treatment methods.

In addition to ODMHSAS certification Narconons drug and alcohol rehabilitation program is accredited by the nationally recognized and prestigious Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF) since the center was first licensed in Oklahoma in 1991. The organization has helped thousands of people recover from drug addiction since that time and has helped prevent drug use through education to hundreds of thousands across the country through the application of American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard is effective drug-free rehabilitation methodology.

Adds Smith, I am impressed with the cooperative spirit that exists today with the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse and treatment providers in the state of Oklahoma. I know this is due, in now small part, to the Department leadership and support in making more treatment services available by the Governor office.
