GAZARO Announces Winning Coveted TechCrunch50 Disqualification Award

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2008

Gazaro, a personalized sales flyer platform that is revolutionizing the lowly paper sales flyer for the attention overloaded Internet generation, was selected as the winner of the coveted and highly subjective Calacanis TC50 Disqualification award.

Awarded on a whim each year by Jason Calacanis via Twitter (http://twitter.com/JasonCalacanis/statuses/916802315) , the coveted award recognizes the company with the most unethical, despicable, and utterly inhumane yet overly effective marketing tactic for directing attendees to their DemoPit booth and collecting voting chips.

Gazaro proudly captured the award for 2008 by setting off a state of mass hypnosis where TC50 attendees helplessly surrendered their voting chips. Never having seen women except on the Internet, the combination of the mythical Gazaro Girls (sighting: http://twitpic.com/ax0r) handing out instant win cards (http://twitpic.com/b9kz) for an oft sought after sexy Amazon Kindle (http://twitpic.com/b9q0) tipped the TC50 crowd into a state of hyper-suggestibility. Some attendees were so mystified that Gazaro acquired quite the red clad following, with individuals stripping down and asking for a Gazaro T-shirt to wear. In true capitalistic form, Gazaro seized the opportunity by extorting voting chips before attendees could make a conscious decision.

“We had our beautiful and intelligent promotions team in lovely red dresses that matched our visual brand, pitching Gazaro and handing out instant win cards that required attendees to view our demo before checking if they had a winning code! It was a shock and awe marketing strategy. We handed out 1000 instant win cards and delivered over 400 demos,” explains Sam Zaid, Gazaro’s CEO. “The whole time we weren’t even sure we were in the running for the award. In the end, I hear we won it by a hair.”

Next on the roadmap for Gazaro is a successful disqualification from Demo to close off the award path. To request an invitation or to learn more about Gazaro, please visit http://www.gazaro.com.
