Digital Health Coalition Expands Advisory Board with Four Industry Thought Leaders

The Digital Health Coalition, a nonprofit think tank dedicated to fostering innovation in online health care, today announced the addition of four new industry thought leaders to their strategic advisory board. The following industry leaders join a team of leading industry executives, digital marketers, legal experts, market researchers, technologists, and medical thought leaders:

Arnie Friede

Arnie Friede is a widely respected food and drug law counselor and advocate with significant advertising law, health care law, First Amendment, environmental, and commercial and transactional experience. He has a long history of direct involvement in successfully representing clients in FDA-regulated matters beginning as an Associate Chief Counsel in the FDA Chief Counsel’s Office, as well as a broad spectrum of senior in-house legal experience across multiple FDA-regulated industries.

Peter Pitts

A former FDA Associate Commissioner, Peter J. Pitts is President of the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest and serves a Special Government Employee consultant to the FDA’s Risk Communications Advisory Committee. An advisor to the Obama transition team on the FDA, Pitts was named as one of 2010’s “300 Most Powerful People in American Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare Magazine.

Lee Segal

Lee Segal is president & CEO of Klick Communications, a leading digital marketing agency. Principally providing interactive services to the pharmaceutical industry, the company has been recognized in countless creative awards. Klick has been named a Profit 100 company, and a Technology Fast 50 company. Klick has also been named one of the Global Growth Companies to watch by the World Economic Forum. Lee has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Business Development Bank and has won the Young Entrepreneur Award from Ernst & Young.

Alan Shapiro

As General Counsel, Alan Shapiro is responsible for all legal activities at Everyday Health, including contract/licensing, IP, M&A, litigation, privacy, and compliance matters. Prior to Everyday Health, Shapiro served as the General Counsel of NetRatings, Inc., a global Internet media and market research firm. Prior to NetRatings, he served as the General Counsel of Jupiter Communications, Inc. and, following a merger with Media Metrix, Inc., as General Counsel of Jupiter Media Metrix,Inc.
