Woman-owned and woman-managed businesses are blossoming in Ottawa. Blossom: The Lifestyle Event for Women, to be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 15, 2006 at Brookstreet, will showcase the remarkable range of businesses owned or run by Ottawa women, while supporting breast cancer research and education.
The term “Blossom” denotes the feeling of rejuvenation that women can experience when they find the right combination of beauty, wellness and lifestyle products and services. And this is exactly what they’ll find at this event. Blossom is a showcase of woman-owned and woman-managed businesses in the areas of fashion, accessories, catering, wellness, image, fitness, and more. Along with shopping and networking, the event features a lineup of seminars on health, wealth, home décor, and image transformation, as well as talks by breast cancer survivors. Attendees are invited to shop for beautiful clothes, accessories to complement fall fashions, jewelry from some of Canada’s hottest designers, and original gift items — all while supporting breast cancer research. “We wanted to offer a range of complementary products and services under one roof while promoting women in business and supporting a worthy cause,” said Beth Johnson, Blossom Event Manager. “This will be a girls’ day out to remember. It offers everything from great shopping, to delicious food, to an opportunity to network with other women, along with great door prizes, and a goodie bag (Blossom is calling it a Girly Bag) full of things women love!”
Highlights of the event include unique product experiences, free soothing massages, complimentary lunch with coffee and tea catered by Brookstreet, free mini-makeovers, great decorating ideas, health and wellness advice, demonstrations and seminars from inspiring speakers, and fantastic door prizes.
