Ottawa Area Clubmaking Company Receives Award

PCS Professional “Class A” Clubmaker Don Irving, Artisan Golf Co., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada was named 2005 PCS Regional Clubmaker of the Year in ceremonies held at the 14th Annual PCS International Symposium and Expo in Louisville, Ky., at the Saturday, March 5, 2005, Awards Banquet. Irving was one of six finalists who received regional honors for 2005.

The PCS Clubmaker of the Year program seeks to recognize outstanding professional clubmakers for excellence in craftsmanship, customer service and contributions to furthering the clubmaking profession. Nominees are welcome from the membership with the final selection made by a committee of previous clubmakers of the year. The presentation takes place each year at the annual PCS International Symposium and Expo Awards Dinner.

PCS, an independent professional society of more than 1,000 clubmakers, offers three certification exams that combine a written exam and a hands-on skills test. It is the most rigorous, continually updated certification process in the clubmaking industry. PCS members pledge adherence to a strict Code of Ethics that prohibits knowingly selling or representing counterfeit components or golf clubs.
